Great Night of Methodist Singing

The 2011 Great Night of Methodist Singing will be held Sunday, January 29th,  6 p.m., at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center, Northwest Florida State College. For more information you may call First United Methodist Church in Niceville,  (850) 678-4411. Come join us for a wonderful time of music and worship with choirs from the local United Methodist Churches.

We realize that many people do not like to drive at night, or do not like to go alone, so the church bus will pick you up at your house and take you home if you would like a ride to go to Great Night Of Methodist Singing next Sunday evening. Please call Sue Ann or Jimm Zajicek at 244-2010 to schedule pick up at your house. If no answer, please leave your name and phone number and they will get back to you. Mike Owenby says we should be there by 5:30 to get good seats. Pick up times will be decided when we know who and where the pick-ups will be. The church would appreciate a $5.00 donation per person, but if you can't afford that you are still very welcome to join us and bring a friend.

Sock Drop for Cold Night

Sock Drop for Cold Night has been designated for each 5th Sunday.  January 29th is our first opportunity to donate items that the homeless can use.  Please refer to the list below for needed items.

  • New sock for men & women
  • Chap Stick
  • Undergarments
  • Razors, combs, and hair brushes
  • Gently used adult (street worthy) clothing

Opportunity Place Dinners

Mary Esther UMC groups have been providing dinners for the residents of Opporunity Place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Please sign your group up to provide dinner in 2012.  Darla Flowers can provide the meal for $45.00 per month.  Please contact Darlene Cheney in the church office at 243-7595 if your group is interested in sponsoring the monthly meal.  Your group will need to deliver the meal to Opportunity Place.
